ROUTE
2019
This project began as a personal reflection on 2019—a pivotal year in which I left the city where I had lived and worked for five years to begin a new chapter. It became a way of documenting the uncertainty, transition, and anticipation that accompanied this major life change.
To express this sense of uncertainty, I intentionally disrupted the legibility of the publication. My initial concept explored layering white text on transparent film over printed pages, cutting away overlapping areas, and assembling the pages into envelope-like forms that held personal photographs.
After experimenting with a variety of printing materials and production methods, I ultimately transformed the project into a digital publication. The shifting relationship between reality and illusion on screen proved to communicate the original concept more cohesively, reinforcing the emotional ambiguity at the heart of the work.
